Thanksgiving closings announced

The following closings have been announced for the Thanksgiving holiday.

  • All Columbus city offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All city curbside collections will be a day behind, with Thursday’s pickup happening on Friday and Friday’s pickup set for Saturday, Nov. 29.
  • Columbus City Utilities offices will also be closed Thursday and Friday. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
  • The Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
  • The Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District Offices, Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center, 720 S. Mapleton St., and the Bartholomew County Landfill will be closed on Thursday. The recycling center and district offices will be closed Friday, but the landfill will be open normal hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.   • All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Nov. 29). Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Monday, Dec. 1. Customers with a vehicle registration set to expire, or needing to conduct any other business with the BMV, to complete their business ahead of this extended holiday closure.   • The Republic offices will be closed Thursday. The offices will reopen Friday at 8 a.m.
