SHELBYVILLE — The Columbus East swimmers opened their seasons Thursday night at Shelbyville, with the Golden Bears winning the boys meet 92-68 and the girls meet 92-15.
Josh Pendleton led the Olympian boys with wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 4.06 seconds) and 500 freestyle (4:52.53). East’s Alex Stilson, Ryan Lienhoop, Pendleton and Marvin Mauer also captured the 200 medley relay in 2:08.98. Ryan Turner finished second in the 50 freestyle (28.10) and 100 freestyle (1:06.49), and Stilson took second in the 100 backstroke 1:08.03).
Baylee Benefield had the lone win for the girls, taking the 200 frestyle in 2:42.04. Savannah Burton was second in the 100 backstroke (1:06.58)
