Festival of Lights Parade will have downtown street closings beginning Saturday afternoon

The Columbus Festival of Lights Parade, one of the biggest events in downtown Columbus, is at 6 p.m. Saturday. There are also many holiday-related events prior to the parade during the afternoon.
Columbus police said downtown streets will begin closing at about noon Saturday to allow for setup.
Starting just before 5 p.m. Saturday, Third Street will close at Franklin Street and officers will detour traffic. If you are passing through using Third Street, please expect delays or use an alternate route. Third Street will reopen as soon as possible after the parade and fireworks are over.
For those intending to park in the parking lot between Franklin Street/Lafayette Avenue and Second and Third Streets, you will need to enter by traveling south on Lafayette Avenue from Third Street.
