Joe Kahlenbeck, owner of Columbus Schwinn, leant his shop and time to the Fireman’s Cheer Fund when he repaired more than 300 bicycles donated to the annual gift drive. Kahlenbeck had been working with the Cheer Fund for the past 10 years.

George Doup of Columbus was elected as president of the Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. for the ninth consecutive time. Doup would serve another 2-year term to add to the previous 18 years.
