COLUMBUS, Ind. — A winter weather advisory is in effect from 5 p.m. today to 10 a.m. Friday with 2 to 5 inches of snow forecast, with higher amounts possible, according to the National Weather Service.
The advisory includes portions of central, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Indiana.
- Moderate snowfall is expected beginning this evening. Growing confidence in a narrow corridor of 4 to 5 inches, but mainly 3-5 inches expected for Bartholomew County.
- A second round of moderate snowfall is expected on Saturday. Many uncertainties still remain but portions of central Indiana could see an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow.
- An Arctic outbreak is expected this weekend with low temperatures in the single digits and likely dangerous sub-zero wind chills.
