College sports notebook: Beyer takes 19th in Open Water Championships

SARASOTA, Fla. — Brady Beyer led Cincinnati swimmers with a 19th-place finish Saturday in the CSCAA Open Water Championships.

Beyer, a sophomore from Columbus East, swam 55 minutes, 33.30 seconds for the 5K (3.1-mile) race.

Stahl grabs 6 rebounds, 6 steals in win

WEST LAFAYETTE — Saige Stahl recorded five points and six rebounds and led Purdue with six steals in 16 minutes Thursday in an 88-45 win against Lipscomb.

Stahl, a junior from Columbus East, had two rebounds and one block in 11 minutes for the Boilermakers (7-4) in Saturday’s 80-43 win against Dayton.

Lawson nets 3 assists, 2 blocks in defeat

HAMMOND — Kylah Lawson led University of Indianapolis with three assists and two blocks Saturday in an 84-77 loss at Purdue Northwest.

Lawson, a senior from Columbus North, also had two points, six rebounds and one steal in 37 minutes for the Greyhounds (0-9).

Gelfius scores 9 in OT victory

FRANKLIN — Ledger Gelfius scored nine points Saturday in Franklin’s 83-74 overtime Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win against Berea.

Gelfius, a freshman from Hauser, added two rebounds and one steal in 13 minutes for the Grizzlies (4-4, 1-2).

Barker helps Grizzlies to triumph

FRANKLIN — Lauren Barker recorded one rebound and one assist in five minutes Saturday in Franklin’s 81-66 win against Berea.
