The following closings have been announced for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is Monday.
- The Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices will be closed.
- All Columbus city offices will be closed. All curbside trash collections will run as scheduled. The Department of Public Works offices will be closed, but will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Visit www.columbus.in.gov/public-works for more information.
- Columbus City Utilities offices will be closed. Customers with a problem with water or sewer service should call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday at 7 a.m.
- The Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District Offices and Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center, 720 S. Mapleton St., will be closed. The Bartholomew County Landfill will be open normal hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit www.bcswmd.com or call 812-376-2614.
- All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed today through Monday. Branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday. Customers can still conduct many transactions online at the myBMV website or at any BMV kiosk. For more, visit IN.gov/BMV.
- The Republic will be open normal business hours on Monday.
