Lin appointed to city utilities board

Melissa Lin has been appointed to the Columbus City Utilities (CCU) Utility Service Board.

The board plays a critical role in overseeing the strategic direction, fiscal integrity, and operational policies of the city’s water and wastewater services. Lin brings significant legal expertise to the board, specifically in the areas of construction law, insurance coverage, cybersecurity breach response and compliance, and commercial litigation, which will be vital as CCU continues to navigate complex regulatory environments and serve the community, utility officials said.

Lin is currently a partner at Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP, where she represents businesses, contractors, associations, municipalities and insurance carriers in tort and contract litigation. Her practice includes general liability, personal injury, employment, construction defect, bad faith, product liability, and professional liability. She also has experience as a cyber breach coach.

Lin holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and a bachelor of science in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona.
