Stryker Gill // Hauser senior basketball player

Gill recorded 11 points and 11 assists in Thursday’s 80-43 win against Shawe Memorial and led the Jets with 24 points and seven rebounds in Saturday’s 53-39 win against Indianapolis Lutheran.

His performance last week: “I feel like I was able to get my teammates involved and had an all-around good game.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just like going to Chipotle before a game and just relaxing.”

Annie Redman // Columbus East freshman wrestler

Annie Redman

Redman won four matches in Friday’s Girls Wrestling State Finals, including three by pin, to capture the 170-pound state title and lead the Olympians to a fourth-place team finish.

Her performance last week: “I feel happy about it.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I practice and we try our hardest, but right before a tournament, I don’t have a special routine or anything.”

Favorite food: “Spaghetti O’s and meatballs”

Favorite class: “Math”

Favorite sports team: “Notre Dame and San Francisco 49ers”

Favorite athlete: “(Olympic wrestler) Sarah Hildebrand”

Best advice: “Just keep working hard, and good things will come for you. What you put in, you’ll get out.”
