Paul Michael “Mike” Irwin, 76, of Scipio, passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his residence.

Born March 17, 1949, in Seymour, he was the son of the late William D. and Ruth Marie (Robins) Irwin. He married Jane Begue on May 1, 1976, at St. Simon Apostle Catholic Church in Indianapolis, she survives.

Mike was a 1967 graduate of North Vernon High School and a 1973 graduate of Purdue University in Computer Science/Industrial. He served in the United States Air Force Reserve. He worked for Cummins-Xerox Corporation as a data analyst and data management. Mike was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon, Jennings Water Board, National Appaloosa Horse Club, Hoosier Appaloosa Horse Club Officer and HPOCA (Hart Pair Oliver Collector Association) and a former member of North Vernon Lions Club. He enjoyed mowing grass, horses, and volunteering at the Bartholomew County Animal Shelter.

Surviving with his wife, Jane is his brother, John (Betty) Irwin of Hayden; sister-in-law, Cathy Begue of Scipio, and nieces, Charlene (David) Maddox of Montana, Victoria Irwin of North Vernon, and Tamara Fraizer of Hayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith Dennis Irwin.

A funeral service for Mike will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon with Deacon Larry French officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery in Jennings County.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mike through the funeral home to donor’s choice of organization.
