A new community meal site is opening on Columbus’ east side, expanding access to meals and wellness programming for local residents.
Thrive Alliance has partnered with the Bartholomew County Public Library to host the site at the library’s new eastside branch, located in the former America and Roby Anderson Community Center at 421 McClure Road. The site will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with meals being served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Nutrition and other wellness-related classes will be offered once a week.
Meals are free to individuals age 60 and older. Those under 60 will be asked to make a donation of $7 for their meal. Meals are not available for carryout and must be eaten on site.
Thrive Alliance also operates a meal site open to the public at the Armory Apartments in downtown Columbus.
