Tata Consultancy Services, a worldwide IT and management consulting company, chose Columbus for its first U.S.-based training program for college graduates. Headquartered in Mumbai, India, the company opened a Columbus office in the summer of 2000.

The Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band from Cherry Point, N.C., played two public concerts at Columbus East High School and The Commons. The concerts featured traditional songs, marches and bicentennial music.
