OSGOOD — Hauser had a chance at a major upset Friday night, giving Class A No. 7 Trinity Lutheran all it could handle before falling 42-35 in the semifinals of the girls basketball Jac-Cen-Del Sectional.
The Jets trailed only 32-28 after three quarters and cut the lead to two and had the ball with less than two minutes remaining, but the Cougars were able to hang on.
Bailey Bonde, Rachel Bonde and Marley Warren all scored eight points to lead Trinity (9-4).
Braelyn Williams led Hauser (13-11) with a game-high 17 points. June Berkenstock added 10.
The Cougars will play Shawe Memorial in the sectional final at 7 p.m. Saturday.
