West Virginia Tech sweeps Crimson Pride

West Virginia Tech spoiled IU Columbus’ basketball senior day Saturday afternoon, winning the River States Conference women’s game 72-58 and the men’s contest 82-73.

Columbus North graduate Hadassah Hurt led the Crimson Pride women (5-18, 3-8) with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Abby Fleetwood had 18 points, three assists and three steals, and Amaya Collins added nine points.

Trevin Lieck led the IUC men (2-22, 0-12) with 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Damontae Thompson scored 15 points, LaRenzo Hopkins had 14 points and two blocks and Eric Jackson added eight points.

The Crimson Pride women visit IU Southeast Tuesday, while the IUC men host IU Southeast at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
