Crimson Pride notch second win of season

COLUMBIA, Ky. — IU Columbus picked up its second baseball win of the season Sunday morning, a 5-3 victory at Lindsey Wilson.

Brayden Furnish, Blaze Schultz and Gavin Haltom combined on a fourh-hitter for the Crimson Pride (2-4). Furnish allowed one run on three hits and no walks and struck out seven in seven innings in picking up the win. Haltom gave up one hit and struck out three over the final 1 2/3 to earn the save.

Ty Nicholson went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead IUC’s nine-hit attack. Jennings County graduate Carson McNulty went 2 for 3 with a double.

Senior Cyrus Robinson notched the 100th hit of his collegiate career.

The Crimson Pride will visit Carolina University for doubleheaders Friday and Saturday before opening the home portion of their schedule with doubleheaders Feb. 21 and 22 against Cleary.
