BROWN COUNTY — The Brown County Art Guild is celebrating 125 years of Tri Kappa and its longstanding commitment to the arts with an anniversary exhibition debuting later this month.
From Feb. 22 to June 26, visitors can view a curated selection of paintings from the Tri Kappa collection, chosen by the Brown County Art Guild, that highlight the talents of Indiana artists past and present. Visitors will discover works that reflect the beauty, creativity and enduring spirit of Indiana’s artistic heritage.
Since its inception in 1901, Tri Kappa has served as a cornerstone of Indiana’s cultural landscape and has fostered a legacy of charity, culture and education that spans generations. After the exhibition concludes at the Brown County Art Guild, it will travel to the Richmond Art Museum in Richmond to be displayed from June 29 to Oct. 9.
A free opening reception will be held on Feb. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. with light refreshments. Remarks will be given at 3 p.m.
The Brown County Art Guild is open in February from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 12 to 4 p.m. Sundays, and is closed or open by appointment only Mondays through Wednesdays. From March until December, its hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
