Bryan and Sandy Brown, Amy Huntington and Russell Evans were inducted into the Columbus East High School Wall of Fame during a ceremony at the high school. Olympians past and present filled the entrance hallway during a reception after the ceremony.

Tony Stewart won the Budweiser Shootout in Daytona Beach, Fla., with an average speed of 181.036 mph. Stewart finished .145 seconds ahead of Dale Earnhardt.

Alfa Blackburn, host of WISH TV’s “Indy Today,” served as moderator of the Mantsho Suhuba National Black History Week Panel held at the Bartholomew County Public Library. Others on the panel included Dr. Joseph Russell, chairman of the IU Afro-American Studies department, and Marion Holmes, director of the tax department at Cummins Engine Co.
