COLUMBUS
Michael J. Parrott, 78, of Columbus, passed from this life Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his residence. Born on August 29, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of the late Donald and Marjorie (Mosier) Parrott. He married Michelle Orwell on April 22, 1978, in Youngstown, Ohio.
Mike graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor of Arts, Western Michigan University with a Master of Science, and the University of Notre Dame with a Ph.D. in nuclear physics. He worked as a radiation physicist, spending nearly 40 years at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mike enjoyed watching all sports, especially tennis, football, and his beloved Detroit Tigers, and cherished time spent with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Michelle, are his daughters, Megan (Chris) Dunn of Bloomington and Melissa (Nick) Konkol of Zionsville; his grandchildren, Abby and Gracie Dunn and Romy and Owen Konkol; and his siblings, Rick, Marcia, Jane, Larry, and Nancy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Pam; and his son, Matthew.
The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mike will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus with Father Clem Davis as celebrant. Memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 4205 Jonathan Moore Pike, Columbus.
