2016

The EcO Network of Southeast Indiana received a grant of about $1.8 million through the Skill UP Indiana program, which aimed to increase educational attainment and provide career opportunities. Bartholomew, Jackson and Jennings counties were served by the network.

2001

More than 200 people people attended “2001: An Arts Odyssey,” the 26th version of the annual unCommon Cause fundraiser. About $45,000 was raised to benefit the Columbus Area Arts Council and the Indianapolis Museum of Art – Columbus Gallery.

Former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden spoke to a packed auditorium at Columbus East High School about how he became successful in his career of coaching. Audience members included IU coach Bobby Knight, Columbus North coach Bill Stearman and East coach Lou Giovanini.
