Columbus Police Department K-9 Rex was rewarded with a steak from Texas Roadhouse after serving his final shift. Rex had worked as a drug detection and tracking dog with the department since 2008.

About 20 Columbus North High School students shared their experiences after their visit to Calnali, Mexico, during the sixth annual Columbus Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. The students helped construct concrete floors and homes in the village.

A cartoon festival sponsored by the Bartholomew County Heart Association was held at The Commons, as well as a free blood pressure clinic. The films shown were “Hemo the Magnificent,” “Barney the Butt,” and “The Tin Woodsman.”
