Harry named new Community Corrections director

Mike Wolanin | The Republic Bartholomew County Veterans Treatment Court case manager Stacey Harry announces the graduates of the veterans court treatment program during a graduation ceremony in Bartholomew Superior Court 1 at the Bartholomew County Courthouse in Columbus, Ind., Thursday, June 8, 2023.

The Bartholomew County commissioners approved the appointment of Stacey Harry as the new director of Community Corrections on Monday.

Community Corrections has had five directors over 40 years of existence.

Harry, a graduate from Columbus East High School and U.S. Army veteran, has been working with Bartholomew County Court Services since 2003. She served as a supervisor for adult probation in 2017, a case manager in Bartholomew County Veterans Treatment Court and director of the court alcohol and drug program.

The director of Community Corrections manages the daily operations of the program based on a plan formulated by the board. The board monitors and evaluates the plan’s effectiveness which informs their opinion on the continued employment of the director.

Previously, the late Rob Gaskill served as director from 2008 until his death in 2025. Chief Probation Officer Brad Barnes said that Harry has a great program to take over thanks to Gaskill’s efforts.

Barnes and the rest of the Community Corrections Board selected Harry as the newest director and the commissioners approved her appointment unanimously.
