Columbus North senior Lily Miller has committed to continue her track and field career at Nova Southeastern, a Division II school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Miller was a regional finalist in the 100-meter hurdles last season. She also ran on the Bull Dogs’ state-qualifying 4×100 relay team.
Locals named Academic All-State
Several wrestlers from Columbus East, Columbus North and Jennings County have been recognized as Academic All-State by the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association.
East’s Caleb Cooper and Talon Jessup and North’s Rogelio Utera-Piedra are on the Senior First Team. North’s Asher Ratliff and Jennings County’s Richard Fernandez and Sam Hernandez made the Senior Second Team.
East’s Hank Redman, Ethan Poling, Adam Dye and Lincoln Cooper and North’s Cohen Long are on the Junior First team. East’s Max Perry and Colin McMahon, North’s Levi Tobias and Jennings’ Luke Kirchner and Jaxon Nelson made the Junior Second Team.
Panthers, Olympian make All-HHC
Two members of the Jennings County girls basketball team that reached the final four in Class 3A have been named to the All-Hoosier Hills Conference squad.
Panther senior Mollie Ernstes and junior Etta Young made the first team. Jennings senior Riley Byford and Columbus East senior Ella Anthis are honorable mention selections.
Ernstes also has been selected to play in the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.
