EDINBURGH — Two people were arrested last week as Edinburgh Police served a narcotics search warrant.
Edinburgh Police executed a narcotics search warrant in the 400 block of Morris St. on Feb. 28. Upon arrival, officers found three adult subjects and a juvenile at the residence, according to an Edinburgh Police news release.
During the search, officers found that the renter, identified as Misty Neese, 41, had approximately 150 grams of methamphetamine on her. Neese was arrested for dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a narcotic drug fentanyl, the news release says.
A male occupant identified as Andrew Burroughs, 33, was arrested for an unrelated burglary investigation. A third female, the caretaker of a 4-year-old found at the home, was cited and released for possession of methamphetamine and neglect of a dependent. Department of Child Services has been notified of the neglect charge and will be completing their investigation, according to the news release.
A total of approximately 160 grams of narcotics was recovered from the residence, the news release says. A photo attached to the news release also indicates the home had a welcome mat that stated, “Come back with a warrant.”
Neese was arrested and transported to the Bartholomew County jail for her charges, while Andrew Burroughs was transported to the Johnson County jail for his charges, according to the news release.
