Bid to replace Clifty Creek Elementary’s roof awarded to B&L

The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. board awarded the bid for replacing Clifty Creek Elementary School’s roof to B&L Sheet Metal and Roofing during its board meeting Monday night.

Bids were opened on Feb. 3 to replace the roofing structure on Clifty Creek Elementary. Of the seven bids that were opened, BSCS Operations recommended awarding the bid to B&L at $867,000 as the lowest responsive bidder, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Brett Boezeman wrote in a letter to the board, cabinet and school attorney Michael McIver.

“Though other bidders citing alternate products were lower, B&L was the lowest total bidder which included alternate 1b, BCSC’s preferred roofing material,” Boezeman said in his letter.

The total budget for the project was $1,000,000, according to Boezeman.
