Columbus celebrated Charles “Chuck” Taylor’s 100th birthday early to bring awareness to Converse, Inc. moving production of its products from North America to Indonesia. Born on June 24, 1901, Taylor was the first athletic shoe endorser.

Jennings County captured its first Seymour sectional high school basketball title in four years after defeating Austin 88-68. The Panthers were set to face Jeffersonville in the second game of the sectional.
