
The bell tower of First Christian Church at Fifth Street and Lafayette Avenue temporarily looks as if it is suffering from a black eye with workmen from the Federal Sign Company of Indianapolis removing the tower’s grilles on March 19, 1976.

Indiana Conservation Officer Joseph Tenbarge was recognized as the 2015 District 6 Officer and Boating Officer of the Year. District 6 consists of Bartholomew, Brown, Johnson, Shelby, Hancock, Marion, Hendricks, Morgan and Monroe counties.

Southside Elementary School sixth grade students designed and launched their own hot air weather balloons made from tissue paper. The lesson aimed to teach the students about wind.

The 56 glass grilles on the First Christian Church bell tower were removed and replaced with solid plastic ones, designed to be weatherproof, by the Federal Sign Company of Indianapolis.
