The Meridian Kiwanis club is sponsoring its fifth annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit Riley Hospital for Children and locally the BUG (Bring up Grades) and “Books for Kids” programs. A race for those 6 and under will be held at 8:15 a.m., just prior to the 5k event. The 5k walk/run will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College. Goodie bags, random drawings for more than 25 great prizes, along with food and drink will be available to all participants. Cost is a special reduced rate of $15 for all elementary students ages 6-12 (T-shirt & door prize ticket included) and a $7 cost (special medallion) for the 6 and under group. Parents may run with their children. A Riley Hospital representative will be on campus to distribute information about Riley Hospital services.
