The four-part “Cowboy Cartel,” streaming on Apple TV+ offers a gripping story, larger-than-life personalities and an interesting vantage point on the “Border Crisis” a much-covered if little-understood issue.

Prime Video streams the new(est) animated incarnation of “Batman: Caped Crusader.” Produced by J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm, the cartoon never lets one forget the gothic in “Gotham” and takes the action back to a reimagined mid-20th-century urban cesspool of official corruption, organized crime and a parade of theatrical evildoers.

Amid sold-out arenas and hit records worldwide for nearly half a century, pop-rock Night Rangers’ bassist Jack Blades has remained grounded — so much so that he and wife Mollie have remained happily married for all of that musical journey.

Kids and teens

Apple TV+ presents “Women in Blue,” a Spanish-language period police drama. Set in Mexico City in the early 1970s and inspired by true events, it begins as that city is reeling from grim news reports of a serial killer who targets young women.

Set against the backdrop of the social disorder and economic depression that destroyed Germany’s Weimar Republic in the years before Hitler, the acclaimed series “Berlin Babylon” concludes its fourth season with two episodes, streaming on the MHz Choice streaming service.

Now in its second season, “History’s Great Escapes With Morgan Freeman” (9 p.m., History, TV-14) recalls a legendary break that inspired two memorable films.

On a weekend dominated by Olympic coverage and political chatter, PBS debuts the third season of its period melodrama “Hotel Portofino!” (8 p.m. Sunday, TV-14, check local listings). The series follows Bella Ainsworth (Natascha McElhone), an attractive woman of a certain age who runs a hotel for wealthy tourists on the Italian Riviera. As you can expect from this British ITV production, the accent is on gorgeous Italian scenery, lovely costumes and sumptuous 1920s interior design.

Even the biggest events in the world need to be sold with a little white lie. While “Primetime in Paris: The Olympics” (7:30 p.m., NBC) suggests live coverage, it will actually present activities from this afternoon, including the Olympics Opening Ceremony, which takes place at 1 p.m.

Reality TV’s wilderness of mirrors can turn even the most spontaneous performer into a product. The highly derivative and slightly creepy new family reality showcase “Wayne Brady: The Family Remix” streams today on Hulu after debuting on Freeform last night.
