Mr. Bernard “Wayne” Petro Sr., 73, of Crothersville, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
Born July 12, 1942, in Columbus, Indiana, he was the son of Oliver Campbell Petro and Opal May Fern (Cox) Petro Schrougham.
On February 19, 1963, in Columbus, Indiana, he married Nancy A. Colvin, who survives.
Wayne was of the Methodist faith. He was a self-employed carpenter, coached Little League Baseball, and enjoyed remodeling homes. He would buy a house, remodel it and then sell it just so he could buy another one to remodel. His doberman, Mindy, was a joy in his life; he loved spending time with her. The true light of his life was his grandsons.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Bernard “Chip” (Jo Allison) Petro Jr.; grandsons, Nickolas R. (Brittney) Petro and Hogan T. Petro; half brothers, Ricky Lee Schrougham, and David M. (Mary) Petro; a half sister, Connie Sue Schrougham; and a sister, Margaret Viola Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale K. Schrougham.
