Lois E. Kaster Toothman, 97, of Columbus, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

A May 1936 graduate of Waldron High School in Waldron, Indiana, she worked at TRW Cinch for 30 years and was a member of Geneva United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and bingo. She also enjoyed dancing and shopping with friends.

The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Geneva United Methodist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born August 16, 1918, in Shelby County, Lois was the daughter of William and Esta Myers Kaster. She married Charles Kenneth Toothman on January 17, 1937, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and they were married for 48 years before his death on November 18, 1985. Following her husband’s death, Lois lived in Columbus for 30 years.

Survivors include son, Gary (Joyce) Toothman of Burlingame, California; daughter, Sandra (Jack) Nolting of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Cynthia Hutchinson and Kenneth (Kim) Nolting of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Terry (Eddie) Loweth of Columbus, Kimberly (Chris) Toothman of New York City, Kathy (Clark) Nichols of Coronado, California, and Daniel Toothman of San Francisco, California; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, John Kaster; and sister-in-law, Ella Mae Kaster.
