Eddie R. Fields, 73, of Columbus, passed from this life with his family at his side at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Fields retired from Rockwell Automation in 2006 as Senior Service Engineer where he had worked for 44 years. He was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church since 1972 and was involved with Youth Leadership. He was also a past President of Rock Creek Elementary School PTO and was a former County Little League Board member. He coached county Little League Baseball for several years.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at East Columbus United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Columbus, November 5, 1941, Mr. Fields was the son of Charles and Mildred Beatty Fields. He married, Dana M. Carnes on November 20, 1960.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dana M. Fields; children, Derek (Angela) Fields of Columbus and Amber (Aaron Groves) Fields of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Blake Fields, Carson Fields and Jimmy Fisher; sisters, Sandra (Paul) Keith of Vernon, Beverly (Gene) Wilson of Columbus, Nancy (Bill) Renshaw of Ogilville and Robbin Ward of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
