Floyd E. Hale, 93, of Lafayette, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:45 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015, at Signature Health Care in Lafayette.

Mr. Hale retired in 1985 as an operating engineer at A & R Pipe Line where he had worked for 29 years.

He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Fun & Fellowship Club and American Natural Resources.

An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Hale was active with the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard for several years.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Martin E. Wright officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to time of service Thursday.

Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery with military honors presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born in Lowell, Indiana, February 28, 1922, Mr. Hale was the son of Orville A. and Edith L. Craft Hale.

He married Ruby A. Taylor March 16, 1947.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ruby A. Hale; children, Donald M. (Linda) Hale of Georgia, Vivian Jane Hale of Lafayette, Aleda J. Hale of Lafayette and Linda J. (John) Bennett of Columbus; grandchildren, Lesley (Adam) Ulrich and Michael (Rebecca) Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Lauren and Henry Ulrich and John Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melford Hale; and sisters, Ruth Keiser and Vernice E. Hough.
