Columbus Lacrosse Club to host open house

The Columbus Lacrosse Club will hold an open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at CSA-New Tech High School. Representatives from the Youth House League for boys and girls in fourth grade and older, the fifth- and sixth-grade boys travel team, the seventh- and eighth-boys travel team, Columbus East boys team, Columbus North boys team and the Girls High School Club team will distribute information and answer questions.

There will be a general information meeting at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room to provide information about fees, financial assistance, equipment, time commitment and other information. Several drawings will take place for free player fees at each level, lacrosse items and spirit wear.

Volleyball club hosting open gyms at Ceraland

East Columbus Volleyball Club will conduct open gyms Tuesdays through Nov. 17 at Ceraland. Grades 3 through 5 will play from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and Grades 6 through 8 will play from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.

North Volleyball Club sets meeting, tryout times

The Columbus North Volleyball Club will hold parent/player informational meetings at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the North athletics conference room and at 3 p.m. Nov. 15 in Memorial Gym. Coach Caitlin Greiner will hand out the season’s practice and tentative tournament schedules, introduce the coaching staff, discuss payments and answer questions.

Tryouts will be Nov. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. for Grades 3 to 6 and from 3 to 5 p.m. for Grades 7 and 8 and from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 for all grades. Team announcements, coach introductions and jersey try-ons will be Dec. 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. for grades 3 to 6 and from 3 to 5 p.m. for grades 7 and 8.

Practice begins Dec. 9 and runs from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic available

Southern Indiana Orthopedics is offering its Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturdays.

Lacrosse program looking for coaches

The Columbus lacrosse program plans to add an elementary team, a girls team and a second high school team next year and is looking for coaches. The program also is creating a winter and summer club team.
