Ruth Halcomb Goldsmith, 77, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015, at her residence.

She was born November 12, 1938, in Fletcher County, Kentucky to Clay Engle and Octava Gibson Engle. She married Alex Halcomb in 1953 and he preceded her in 2004; she then married Dwight D. Goldsmith in 2006 and he preceded her in 2014.

She is survived by sons Gregory A. (Donna) Halcomb of Edinburgh, Paul David (Dana Camp) Halcomb of Columbus, Matthew Wayne (Michelle) Halcomb of Seymour; daughters Sharon R. (Mark) Clem of Morgantown, Octava Diana (Pat) Finley of Franklin, Rita G. (Gary) Rhoades of Columbus; stepsons David D. (Barb) Goldsmith of Edinburgh, Donald S. (Melissa) Goldsmith of California, Christopher O. Goldsmith of Edinburgh; step-daughter Sherry M. (Daniel) Lewis of Franklin; sisters Flora and Dora of Cincinnati, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents; two husbands; brothers; and a sister.

She was a member of Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, singing, sewing and quilting.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, by the Rev. Lewis Burton at Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church and 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Who So Even Will Community Church through the funeral home.
