Everett M. Conrad, 85, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:37 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Richard L. Roudebush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Mr. Conrad retired in 1990 from Arvin Industries where he had worked for 43 years.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the American Legion, VFW, Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 146 and the Murat Shrine.

He enjoyed gardening and farming.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to time of service Thursday.

A Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by Jackson Masonic Lodge.

Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery with military honors presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Columbus, May 27, 1930, Mr. Conrad was the son of Harod and Sophia Allen Conrad.

Survivors include his son, Mark (Cindy) Conrad of Columbus; a sister, Alma (James) Williams of Columbus; and a grandson, Josh Conrad of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frankie, John, Robert, Louis, William and Elmer Conrad; and sisters, Dorothy Spurgeon, Elsie Lawles, Leonia Newkirk and Goldie Foley.
