Local artist Jeri Cannon was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts to paint two ceramic footballs to be displayed and auctioned off during 2006 Super Bowl festivities.

1990

A donation from an anonymous source enabled the Bartholomew County Health Department to resume giving flu shots for $3 each. The service was discontinued briefly when the department used up its supply of vaccine and had no funds to get more.

1965

School bus drivers offered free transportation to and from basketball games at Memorial Gym from Donner Center, Lincoln Center and Bartholomew County Courthouse. The plan initially was set up for courthouse employees who worked until 8 p.m. Fridays but was expanded to accommodate anyone who wanted a ride.
