Darlene Sue Carmichael, 59, of Columbus, entered eternal life at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Willow Crossing Health and Rehab.

Darlene was born June 16, 1956, in Columbus, Indiana the daughter of the late Alfred Wayne and Mary Catherine Hornback Carmichael.

She was a 1974 graduate of Columbus East High School and retired after 32 years from Arvin Industries Walesboro Plant.

Darlene was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus. She was a devoted and loving aunt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at Memorial Baptist Church, 2320 Seventh St., Columbus, with Pastor Don Humphrey and Pastor Scott Murphy officiating.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

A private inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home.

Darlene is survived by three sisters, Alice Lamb and Ann (Mark) Fisher both of Columbus and Mary Jo Smith of Tucson, Arizona; four nephews, Jason (Camilla) Lamb of Edinburgh, Indiana, Joshua Murry (Angela) Lamb of Chicago, Ryan (Ashleigh) Fisher and Ethan (Danielle VanGorden) Fisher both of Columbus; a niece, Kathryn Gail Smith of Tucson; four great-nephews, Corin Edward and Warner Harrison Fisher, Caleb Lok Chuen Lamb and Caleb Noel Smith; and two great-nieces, Hannah Carleen Lamb and Allison Brianna Smith.

Along with her parents, Darlene was also preceded in death by a brother, James Murry Carmichael.
