A PBS team from Bloomington filmed scenes at Columbus City Hall, First Presbyterian Church and along Washington Street to use as a backdrop for a holiday episode of WTIU’s program “Weekly Special.”

1990

A maiden effort to collect leaves and grass for composting was touted as a success by Columbus-Bartholomew Solid Waste Disposal Authority after city crews collected nearly 13 tons of grass clippings and loose leaves.

The Eero Saarinen architectural firm was chosen to design a new sectional postal center in Columbus.
