Jeanne Henderson, 90, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Henderson was born November 24, 1925, in Tonganoxie, Kansas, to Walter Leo and Marion Murphy Wickey. She married Truman Floyd Henderson Jr. August 28, 1944. He preceded her in death December 17, 1995.
Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Columbus.
Her true passion in life was her family and she was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed art and painting and also was a sports enthusiast.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie Whitley of Columbus and Janice Garrett of Golden, Colorado; grandchildren, Sean (Jen) Roe of Golden, Colorado, Dane (Sarah) Whitley of Columbus, Eli (Melodija) Roe of Orlando, Florida, and Ryan Whitley of Phoenix, Arizona; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Samantha Roe, Elise, Lauryn and Aidan Whitley, Wyatt and Dillon Osteen, Benjamin Zuercher and Timothy and Jonathan Roberts.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Keefie Wickey.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Norie Erickson officiating.
Family and friends may call from 2:30 p.m. until service time Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army or Human Services Inc – Route 21.
Private burial will be Monday at Mount Muncie Cemetery in Lansing, Kansas.
