Donald Ray Ferguson, 71, of Columbus, went to his Heavenly home at 11:30 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Don was born October 8, 1944, in Columbus, the son of John and Martha Kuhlman Ferguson. He married Grace Garza October 8, 1988.
Don retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1999 after 31 years of service. After retirement he worked at Diamet and Screentech. He was a hard working man, always giving a helping hand.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday, January 21, 2016, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Galligar officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, through the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; sons, Donald (Kellie) Ferguson of Columbus and Chris (Penny) Ferguson and Gary (Tina) Ferguson, all of North Vernon; daughter, Shannon (Christian) Anderson of North Vernon; five brothers, six sisters; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Services were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
