Bessie Jewell Bowman, 69, of Elizabethtown died at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
She is survived by sons, Dean Bowman and Andy (Melody) Bowman both of Columbus; daughters, Lori (George) Stephans of North Vernon and Lisa Bowman of Elizabethtown; sister, Mae Turner of Columbus; grandchildren, Crystal (Jeremy) Ballman of Grammar, Jereme (Bri) Bowman and Zack Bowman both of Columbus, Michael Wagaman and Autumn Stephans both of North Vernon, Adara Armstrong and Eli Moscoe both of Elizabethtown; great-grandchildren, Damian Pedigo, Shilee Pedigo all of Grammar, Jaxon Wagaman of Greensburg and Ian Bowman of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bowman; brothers, Bill, Tom and Jim Purdue; and sister, Gladys Grimes.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be in the New Harmony Cemetery in Bartholomew County.
