Just in time for spring break at most area schools, the price of gas increased to $2.65, up from $2.05 at the same time the previous year.

1991

Small earthen pyramids, one 13 feet tall and the other 15 feet tall, were built on an old, potentially hazardous landfill south of the State Road 46/State Road 11 intersection to help engineers determine how much and in what direction the ground would settle if a proposed highway were built over the site.

1966

Construction began on a new Dunlap and Co. plant at the firm’s Big D materials center on National Road which would fabricate component parts for buildings.
