Mary Ruth Snyder, 55, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at her residence.
She was born on September 16, 1960, in Greensburg, the daughter of Harvey Lee and Elnora Irene (Idlewine) Sturdivant. Mrs. Snyder was a lifelong resident of Decatur and Jennings Counties and had graduated from South Decatur High School in 1978. She was employed by Arvin Industries in Columbus for 18 years. She enjoyed going to the casinos, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
She married Eddie Dewayne Snyder in Westport on July 29, 1994, and he survives. Other survivors include her parents, Harvey and Elnora Sturdivant of Westport; her daughter, Ashley Reannon (Thomas Wayne) Robbins of Clarksburg; her sons, Travis Lee Bishop of Connersville and Grant Michael Bishop of Greensburg; her stepson, Ashley Dewayne Snyder of North Vernon; her sister, Lisa (Alan) Hermesch of Millhousen; her brothers, Robin (Norma) Sturdivant of Westport and Mark Adam (Matt Godby) Sturdivant of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Adam and Ruth Idlewine.
The family will receive visitors from 1 until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport.
