Barbara Jean Eddy, 89, of Columbus, died at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Sally Gibbs.
Mrs. Eddy was born June 21, 1927, in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, to William Harold and Lois Clara Kamrath Stolle. She married Ray D. Eddy May 28, 1947. He preceded her in death Oct. 20, 2010.
Mrs. Eddy worked in the sewing room at Cosco for many years before retiring.
She was a member of the Petersville United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Clifford Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Eddy is survived by her daughters, Maria “Jeannie” Tyler and Sally Gibbs both of Columbus; grandchildren, Tracey Bottoms of Greensburg, David E. Lucas of Columbus, Chester (Keri) Lucas of Brown County, Christy Pugsley of Columbus and Tamara Gibbs of Columbus; a sister, Marjorie Zigler of Columbus; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Richard Stolle; sister, Jeanene Pearson; and grandson, Robert Tyler.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Ed Scherer-Berry officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
