• Erik Wilking at PC Repair and Consulting for the excellent job finding and correcting the problems with my computer, and for your patience explaining them to me, from Peg at Four Seasons.

• Patti S. for the kindness, sharing and care she shows to those in times of need, from her friends.

• the nice man last Friday at the Corner Cafe in Hope for the birthday lunches, from the two ladies.

• Dr. Forbes, for being the most kind and professional oral surgeon, from a repeat patient.

• Jack, of Jack’s Heating & Cooling, and my neighbor, Jan, for coming to my aid after my fall Monday morning on Taylor Road.

• Jim and Judy Wheatley for being such good friends and for all you do for me, from Sandy.

• Megan at the west side Walgreens for all your help in printing pictures Friday.

• Dr. McCabe and his entire staff for being a wonderful group of caring, helpful and kind people, from Garrett’s mom.

• Mark Webber for his article and pictures of the 4-H children and their chickens.

• the city garage for the rapid pick-up of the extra trash on Lantern Lane from the Simpsons, because you guys rock.

• Jared at Kroger for helping me put my groceries in the car when it was pouring down rain last week when no one else would, from a loyal customer.

• Morris for being such a caring neighbor, from Benita.

• Baron Rieker and Miss Satterfield, a wonderful couple with two small children, who helped us find our car after 10 p.m. at the 4-H fair, from Don and Peggy.

• Bettina at the eastside Walmart for wonderful customer service.

• Danielle at The Garage Pub and Grill for great service.

• the two homeowners on each side of Countryside Addition who keep their yards so beautiful and well cut.

• Dan Wallace and the young people at First Christian Church for the fabulous program for the 50-plus group.

Onions to …

• the local contractor who is not who he appears to be.

• the cashier at the department store checkout register who ignored us when we were ready in order to keep talking to her friend, and then told us that for excellent customer service to come spend $100 on Saturday.

• drivers who need to know how and when to make a left turn from Beam Road onto National Road.

• streets that have a merge lane but should have yield signs instead because drivers do not understand “merge” and “yield.”

• the baseball umpire who wanted to be bigger than the game.

• the nonprofit organization that sent an employee home for wearing a sleeveless dress that looked very professional but allows other employees to show tattoos all over their body.

• elected city officials for not voting on the chicken issue, because that’s why they were elected.

• the people who park campers and undriven cars in Countryside Addition for more than a year.

• the person who posts on social media about the city official wasting tax dollars when he hasn’t taken the time to investigate that the local entity is self-sufficient and doesn’t use any tax dollars.

• the previous administration who thinks social media is the only way for a mayor to praise law enforcement but should take time to research and see that he personally contacted and gave thanks and praise for the well-done job they do in our community.
