You can vote for the state’s new license plate design

Indiana residents may vote on what the next state license plate will look like, the plate that will replace the outgoing Bicentennial plate.

Three designs were unveiled Friday morning at the Indiana State Fair by Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Kent Abernathy.

The three designs are a blue, red and green plate with a covered bridge over a creek, a white blue and yellow plate with a torch and stars and the silhouette of Indiana and a white plate with blue numbers and the slogan, “Crossroads of America.”

The designs were created by Fort Wayne’s Intellectual Technology Inc.

Residents may vote at myBMV.com or at the bureau’s display at the Indiana State Fair Exposition Hall. Voting ends at midnight Sept. 5.

The new plate will be used on vehicles beginning in January 2017.
