Seventy-five descendants of Alva Irwin and Alice Deckard Henderson gathered for the annual family get together during the Henderson Reunion grounds Aug. 7 in Fruitdale in Brown County.
Patriarch Ollen Henderson and matriarch Rosetta Henderson Adams, children of Alice and Alva, welcomed special guest Thelma Bales Forsyth, and her daughter Linda. Thelma is the daughter of Rachel Deckard Bales, Alice’s sister.
In attendance of special significance because of their absence from the reunion in recent years were:
- David Henderson, son of George and Irene Axsom Henderson, and his son Michael Henderson and his family.
- David Henderson, grandson of George and Irene, and son of the Phillip Dean and Becky Winkler Henderson.
- Jeff Goddard, grandson of George and Irene and son of Judy Henderson and Dale Goddard.
- James Otis Henderson, son of Otis and Alice Stephens Henderson, and his family.
