A Shelbyville man has died after falling from a moving vehicle and being struck by another vehicle on State Road 9 in southern Shelby County.
Nathan Turner, 20, was riding in a vehicle driven by Adam Nordhoff, 29, of Hope, Shelby County Sheriff Dennis Parks said.
After falling from Nordhoff’s vehicle, Turner was struck by a unknown vehicle traveling northbound, said the sheriff’s department, which received a call at 9:48 p.m. Monday that a pedestrian had been struck in the 9500 block of State Road 9. That’s near the intersection of County Road 95, a few miles north of the Bartholomew County line.
Police do not have a description of the striking vehicle, and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in learning more about the accident.
