Dorothea Marie Schulz Fiesbeck, 87, of Columbus, died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday at the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born Feb. 22, 1929, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Martin and Nettie Pardieck Schulz.

Dorothea was a lifelong Bartholomew County resident, graduating from Columbus High School. She worked fourteen years for Taylorsville School Corporation in the cafeterias retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty, was homemaker and a loving mother raising her four sons. She enjoyed playing the organ and playing for the residents at Parkside Court while she was a resident there. She loved to play Bingo with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothea’s survivors include her sons, Leroy (Janet) Fiesbeck, David (Sally) Fiesbeck, Daniel (Angela) Fiesbeck, all of Edinburgh and Frank (Karen) Fiesbeck, Columbus; her sister, Etta Faye Forster, Columbus; grandchildren, Dale, Joe, Nathan, Aimee, Darci, Anissa and Anne Fiesbeck and Suzanne Jowers; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

The funeral service for Dorothea will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday  at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Clifty Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
