A daylong birthday party stretched for 55 miles and involved more than 1,000 people. The big bash was Bartholomew County’s celebration of Indiana’s bicentennial. It started in Hartsville and culminated at the Bartholomew County Library Plaza in Columbus. Bartholomew County marked one of the destinations for the Indiana Bicentennial Torch relay, an Olympic-style torch relay that is covering 3,200 miles and traveling through all 92 of the state’s counties. The local celebration included torch bearers, historical displays, music and lots of fun.
Nobody covers Columbus, Indiana and the surrounding areas like The Republic.
